Buckskin Coat

I’ve dug out the old buckskin coat and it’s back in the rotation. You remember it? Nadia’s mom got it re-lined for me. So nice I almost want to wear it inside out.

I stopped wearing the coat years ago. You probably noticed. I can’t remember why. Maybe because it’s just on the wrong side of the that precarious line between personal expression and public exhibition. Nothing against either. At least not anymore. I just prefer to avoid the merits and praise of the latter. However, perhaps it’s time I finally come to terms with this funny little muddle called Jae-Ho. More importantly though, and this is where your preternatural Binging powers come in, I can’t find any video footage of Pierre Elliot in the canoe. I did find a still photo. But now I wonder if I only imagined the video. Anyways, if anyone can find it, it’s you. Mostly, I want to just watch him.*

* Yes, pretty much this entire entry was just so I could use that line.

The video footage is from a documentary on Trudeau called Memoirs. I can’t find the entire thing online, but the scene you’re referring to can be seen here:

I never did know what it was about the scene that had you in a buckskin jacket, but I do know that Trudeau remains the only Prime Minister that seemed ready for a world stage. The kind of person who could go head to head with Putin and not care that he didn’t have the army to back him up.

Yeah! Thomas can fly, man. I told you.

I’m sure we talked about it. You also mentioned that a law school friend was a big Trudeau fan. But those were different times. You’d think our brains would have cleared room for bigger and better things.

Not just that he could butt heads with Putin, but that he’d have been willing.

    Thanks for finding the video.

Oh, I remember talking about it at length. But I forget, or never knew, what took it from “watching video on Trudeau” to the buy instinct.

Hello, my name is Thomas and I work in advertising.

        Hello Thomas in advertising.

I don’t remember the reason either. Something about canoes maybe. But I do know the footage is intrinsically linked.
