Overseas Friend.

By chance, I just heard Radiohead’s True Love Waits from an album of live recordings. The album has a black cover. I don’t know when I last heard a Radiohead song. I forgot that song existed. The existence of that album had completely disintegrated from my memory. I think I had that album. These realizations while listening to the song saddened me a bit.

Remember this:

I didn’t forget it. It got lost amongst official looking papers and things like localization. I thought it was gone. Finally excavated it after, evidently, 17 months. I thought it’s been longer. Always meant to do something with it. Instead of neglect it.

With your permission, I’d like to do something with it now, as a kind of response. Probably something involving video. Or a game. Well?

Remember when I shot this?

I think it was about 3 years ago. Kind of had this half done not long after I had the footage. Then left it for a few years while other things took over. Then forgot it existed. Then took it up again recently and got this far. Every segment was just a proof of concept and it never advanced beyond that convenient excuse to not polish it. I was happy to work on it again and now I’m happy to not have to work on it any more. It’s a nice way to work.
